GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS


MEDICAL FITNESS

This is necessary since students are required to go for training in industry as an integral part of the curriculum.

GENERAL REGULATIONS

(A) UNIFORM: All students are required to wear white shirts and blue trousers/pleated skirts (of the prescribed colour) black leather shoes and socks. All articles of uniform must be scrupulously clean and decent. In the workshop and engineering laboratories, the students will wear grey overalls. Loose garments should not be worn in the workshop or laboratory.

(B) IDENTITY CARD: On joining the Institute, each student will be required to obtain an Identity Card from the Institute’s office .He/she should paste a passport size photograph in the space provided in the card, and get it signed by the principal and should have it with him/her in the premises of the institute.The card is revalidated every year by the middle of August.

(C) ATTENDANCE AND LEAVE

  1. The LTIT management expects 100% attendance from its students.

  2. There shall be two sessions a day, one in the forenoon-8.25 a.m. to 12.40 p.m. and the other in the afternoon- 1.15 p.m. to 5.15 p.m. Attendance will be taken daily at the beginning of every class.
  3. Late-comers shall not enter the class without the permission of the Lecturer.
  4. No student shall be absent from his/her class/inplant training without prior permission. Students should apply for leave in the prescribed form available in the office.
  5. In case of illness or of sudden emergency, leave should be applied for as soon as the need arises and not after availing of leave. Belated application will be rejected if the reasons given are insufficient.
  6. If a student requires leave on account of private affairs he/she must take it from the Principal in person.
  7. The reason for applying for leave should be clearly stated. Leave will not be granted if the reasons given are vague or unsatisfactory.
  8. When absence is due to illness, the application for leave may be required to be supported by Medical Certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner.
  9. Ordinarily, leave will not be granted to students on the closing day before vacations or on the re-opening day after vacations.
  10. If a student remains absent continuously for more than 15 days, his/her name will be struck off the rolls and he/she will need re-admission to the institute.

(D) DISCIPLINE

  1. Students will wear the proper uniform when they are within the premises of the Institute.
  2. Students shall not disfigure the properties such as furniture, building walls, etc. of the Institute.
  3. No student shall leave the classroom without the Lecturer’s permission.
  4. Students shall not loiter in the corridors or other places during the class hours.
  5. Students are forbidden to participate in any meetings against the constituted authority.
  6. No meeting or entertainment shall be organized in the Institute without the written permission of the Principal.
  7. No student shall join (or) work for any organization outside the Institute without the written permission of the Principal.
  8. Students shall not smoke within the premises of the Institute.
  9. T he Principal may frame and issue from time to time disciplinary rules of permanent or temporary nature regulating the conduct of students within and outside the Institute.
  10. The Principal shall have the power to impose the following punishments: fine, loss of attendance, loss of term certificate, suspension/expulsion from the Institute, etc.
